Size & Ergonomics: At 23″ long, this guitar is compact and sized for a child, which makes holding and strumming easier compared to a full-size acoustic.
String Type: The instrument uses six realistic stainless-steel strings, which is unusual for a toy; many toy guitars use nylon or cheap plastic. The steel strings give a brighter, sharper sound but may be harder on young fingers.
Tuning Capability: The strings are tunable from the pegs, so the child (or adult) can learn how to tune, improving musical understanding rather than just “strumming a toy.”
Construction: While commonly referred to as a “toy” guitar, its design mimics that of a real instrument, but build quality is low-cost.
Durability & Practical Use: Given its low price point and toy-like status, durability is limited. Some sources suggest the strings may go out of tune easily or break, and tuning pegs might not be very stable.
Child Development Value: The instrument is useful for introducing young children to music — helping develop basic coordination, rhythm, and sound recognition — but it’s not going to substitute for a high-quality guitar later on.
Even though this is sold as a “toy,” the six steel strings and working tuning pegs mean that it feels more like a real guitar than many other toy instruments. That realism is both a pro and a con: it can teach real skills, but children may find steel strings more challenging than softer nylon ones.

Extellent gift for my 5 year old grandson. He is too young to learn with his fingers- not developed yet- but I taught him how to hold the guilt and to strum. It can be tuned too. A little banging and scratching here and there is ok.
My 2.4 year old grandson LOVED this guitar, and could not put it down! He strummed all weekend! He is active, loves all toys but this captured his interest at Halloween at a party with a band, and that was it!
