This is a mini-split (ductless) air conditioner and heat pump combo from Costway. It uses inverter technology to provide both cooling and heating, making it suitable for all-year usage. It’s designed for relatively large indoor spaces (up to ~750 sq ft according to the listing) and is more energy-efficient due to its high SEER2 rating.

Capacity / BTU Rating — Is 12,000 BTU enough for your room size or too much?
Energy Efficiency — SEER2 = 20 is very high; will this translate into meaningful power savings?
Inverter Technology — How the variable-speed compressor helps in reducing power consumption and improving comfort.
Heating Performance — As a heat pump, how well does it heat when outdoor temps are low?
Installation Complexity — Mini-splits require more involved installation (indoor + outdoor units, refrigerant lines, copper piping).
Control & Features — Remote, timer, modes (auto, cool, dry, heat, fan) reported in its description.
Maintenance — Filter cleaning, possible need for professional servicing, especially for the outdoor unit.
Energy efficiency is equally significant. High-efficiency systems consume less electricity due to optimized compressor behavior and better heat exchange performance. Over time, especially in climates where AC is used daily, the difference in electrical bills becomes substantial. This is why SEER2 rating and inverter technology matter on a theoretical level: they reflect the system’s ability to perform well at partial loads, which is how ACs operate most of the time.
These factors represent the most critical aspects that will impact your satisfaction with this product.
After I finished installing and running it, I must say that I'm very satisfied with the purchase and the quality and results achieved from this item. Using only 120 volts the system runs nearly silently, while the amount of air discharged by the vent is very significant.
I bought the 18,000 BTU (220V) mini split for my shop. The shop is 1,000 square feet, has insulated walls, but no drywall or insulation on the ceiling. It is open to the attic, so I don’t have the most efficient insulation in the shop.
