Had the studs all marked out so didn't really need the template but it's good to have. Didn't seem too heavy to lift but I had to get a neighbor in to help me lift it. I got the 4x4 and it was perfect for my garage
The instructions are fairly clear and the hardware is great. All the holes lined up and seem to be very sturdy.
