The Photon Mono 4 is a compact resin 3D printer under the brand Anycubic, designed for high-resolution, detailed printing — ideal for miniatures, figurines, prototypes, and small intricate parts. It uses a 7-inch monochrome (Mono) 10K-resolution LCD screen, enabling fine detail with small pixel size (~17 µm XY resolution). The printer also uses a “LightTurbo” matrix light source, which claims to deliver stable, uniform UV exposure for consistent layer curing.

Print size / build volume — The build volume (~153 × 87 × 165 mm) is small. Good for minis, jewelry, small models; not suited for large parts.
Print resolution & detail — With a 10K monochrome LCD and small pixel size (~17 µm), this printer is optimized for high-detail, fine geometry prints rather than large bulky prints.
Material type (resin) vs FDM filament — This is a resin printer, so you need compatible resin (liquid) rather than filament spools. Resin printing has different handling, post-processing, ventilation needs, etc.
Print speed for resin printing — Prints up to ~70 mm/h (as per specs), which is fairly good for resin 3D printers but still depends on layer height and model complexity.
Ease of use / leveling / build platform adhesion — The printer uses a “laser-engraved Print Platform 2.0” for improved adhesion to reduce lifting or warping.
One of the biggest advantages of Photon Mono 4 is its 7″ 10K monochrome LCD. It results in a very high XY resolution — pixel size around 17 × 17 µm — which enables printing of very fine details, making it ideal for miniatures, models, or any print requiring sharpness and clarity. This high resolution means even small features, textures, or details can come out clean, which is often hard to achieve with filament-based (FDM) printers at comparable levels.
These factors represent the most critical aspects that will impact your satisfaction with this product.
Bought this on sale and have been so impressed with the smooth, detail oriented quality prints & ease of use. Perfect for serious printers who are eager to print. Highly recommend!!!
This printer is my first foray into printing 3d models of characters and the setup was quick, and quite easy despite that the leveling is manual it is also straightforward, and the overall user experience is beginner friendly. I really like the laser-engraved build plate and resume function, plus the included tools helped me out quite a bit for a first print.
