Real-world speed dependency: To benefit fully from ~1000 MB/s speeds, your device must support USB 3.2 Gen 2 (or newer). On older/slower ports, speeds will be lower.
Portability vs storage needs balance: 2 TB gives solid space for many projects or media libraries, while still being physically small and easy to carry — ideal if you need both mobility and capacity.
Durability and flexibility: Rugged build, dust/water resistance and universal connectivity make it a reliable choice for travel, field work, editing on the go, or cross-device use.
These factors represent the most critical aspects that will impact your satisfaction with this product.
I bought the 2TB version because they were all out of the 1TB version, and this is a fantastic product. It was way smaller than I expected, which is a good thing. It comes in its own small plastic case, as well as an small extension thing if you wish to put it on the back of your phone. It is an extremely secure connection when plugging into anything, its not loose whatsoever. It also comes with a few extra labels.
I bought this Lexar 1TB Professional Go SSD to use with my iPhone 17 Pro for open gate RAW and 4K ProRes recording after my old SSD oddly was not supported. This one works perfectly. It is very fast, transfers files without any issues, and feels reliable for professional video use. The only small downside for me is that when I use it with the Apple case on my phone, the USB-C connection can come loose more easily. Other than that, I am very happy with this drive.
