I love these headphones so much. I'm not a sound engineer or anything similar but I do listen to a lot of music and the sound from these HD280's is just beautiful. They are monitoring headphones meant for the studio of course - nevertheless I like the 'neutral' sound they produce. I have these on for hours most days and they remain very comfortable indeed - the soft cups really are almost unnoticeable after a while. I have had my pair for 6 years now and after heavy use they have aged very well (other than wearing of the headband and the cup covers - as to be expected) and they are very durable. Then again I take extra care of my stuff..
Its good if you are a beginner. You can get to listen a frequency Range from 17000 Hz to 15 Hz. Its more limited towards low frequency. But it also capture required high frequency. Sound is flat, no bass boost, good for studio audit purpose. It may cause a little discomfort for very long time usage. The cord is fixed, it would be better if the cord could be opened separately. The padding may get damaged by wear and tear as it is very thin coat. It cancels most of noise while silent. A fan sound can seep in at low volume but you can’t listen to anything with average loudness while any song is being played. Excellent for this price range. Afterall its sennheiser.
