I got this to hold a 15" monitor I purchased at the same time. I'm really happy the stand extends like I wanted, so I could place the monitor above my laptop screen. Typically, I prefer to look up & down with multiple monitors, instead of side-to-side. . The monitor is one of the cheap, lightweight ones, although with all the cords attached, I have to make sure they don't set the monitor up for falling off the support feet of this stand. A little mindfulness and everything works out great! . I haven't yet taken the allen wrench and adjusted the tension, mainly because it is holding really well in the positions I have tried it out in.
