CPU compatibility & BIOS — Requires an AM5 CPU (Ryzen 7000 / 8000 / 9000 series). Confirm BIOS revision if you plan to use the newest Ryzen CPUs.
Memory type & cost — This board uses DDR5 (EXPO supported). DDR5 kits are faster but cost more than DDR4.
Expansion & storage needs — Offers 4× M.2 slots for multiple NVMe drives; check slot-to-CPU lane wiring if you need maximum bandwidth per slot.
Connectivity expectations — Has PCIe 5.0, Dual USB4, front + rear USB-C, Wi-Fi 7, and 2.5GbE LAN — good for high-bandwidth peripherals but confirm exact port counts match your devices.
Built on the AMD X870 chipset and the AM5 socket, the board officially supports Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 series processors — providing the broadest compatibility for current and near-future AMD CPUs. If you plan to use very new or not-yet-shipped CPUs, verify the vendor CPU support list and BIOS version.

I wanted a rear-connection motherboard for my white PC build, and found this motherboard to be gorgeous. Beautiful white and chrome aesthetic, with a little touch of RGB for flair. Nearly all of the ugly bits of a standard motherboard are either hidden under a heatsink or on the back face, the only exceptions are a few capacitors around the POST LED Display. Looking at the specs of this X870 motherboard compared to some of the high end X870E motherboards.
Looks great, easy to set up and get running. I have been using it daily for nearly 8 months with zero issues. it has been reliable, temps are good and boots fast. The bios is very easy to navigate through. Plenty of customization options.
