The DELTA2 Extra Battery is an add-on pack designed to expand the storage capacity of a compatible base unit (such as the EF ECOFLOW Portable Power Station DELTA 2). It adds 1024 Wh of additional LiFePO₄ battery capacity, enabling longer runtimes for appliances and devices. It uses a lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) chemistry battery, known for durability and long cycle life. According to the manufacturer’s listing, the extra battery is meant for home backup, camping, or general portable/off-grid power use.

Compatibility — This unit is an expansion battery, not a standalone power station. You need a base station (e.g. DELTA2) to use it.
Battery capacity & battery type — Adds 1024 Wh using LiFePO₄ chemistry, which tends to have better longevity and safety compared with many other lithium chemistries.
Cycling life / longevity — The manufacturer claims 3000+ cycles, meaning it can be charged and discharged many times before significant capacity degradation.
Charge & power output when combined with base unit — The extra battery works by expanding capacity; actual output capability depends on the base station’s inverter and ports. When paired properly (with DELTA2 base), you can power many home appliances, benefiting from the base unit’s 1800 W AC/100 W USB-C output spec.
Use-case (demand vs. capacity) — If you only need power for phones, laptops, small devices, the base unit may suffice; but for heavier load or long runtime (e.g. fridge, long outage, multiple devices), extra battery makes sense.
The LiFePO₄ (LFP) battery in the extra battery generally offers a long service life and more cycles compared with standard lithium-ion packs — meaning over time, cost per cycle is lower and reliability stays higher. By adding 1024 Wh to your base unit’s capacity, you significantly extend how long you can power devices or appliances. This matters most if you want sustained power (for fridge, lights, fans, etc.) rather than just occasional charging.
These factors represent the most critical aspects that will impact your satisfaction with this product.
What can I say - Ecoflow has breen one of the major players in the Portable Power Station market for several years. Their products are well regarded for their quality, capacity, durability and function! The Delta 2 has been a stalwart in the mid-level, 1024Wh space for a while and when Amazon reduced the price to the level I found this, it was a no-brainer to grab one.
I’m really impressed with the EcoFlow Delta 2. It’s powerful enough to keep my essential devices running during outages, and it recharges incredibly fast. I love that it can handle several appliances at the same time without struggling. The build quality feels solid, the app is easy to use, and it’s much quieter than a gas generator.
