Compatibility requirements — The PSVR2 is not a standalone device. To use it, you need a PS5 console. Without that, the headset won’t function.
Hardware investment vs. value — You're paying for both advanced VR hardware and a full game. The bundled game adds immediate value, especially compared to buying headset-only.
Visual & sensory quality — The headset offers high-end VR specs: 4K-HDR visuals, wide field of view (110°), and advanced head/eye-tracking + haptics for immersive feel.
Space & comfort considerations — VR gaming often demands enough physical space for safe movement, and comfort during longer sessions matters, especially with a headset and controllers.
Game selection & future support — While this bundle gives you one game, the broader VR library and ongoing support for PSVR2 titles should be considered. Ensure there are enough games you care about and that future VR support remains strong.
A key constraint is that PSVR2 does not work alone — you need a PlayStation 5 console to power it. This means if you don’t already own a PS5, you’re looking at a larger investment (console + VR bundle) — which may affect whether the bundle makes sense. The bundle delivers high-end VR specs: 4K HDR visuals, 110° field of view, and advanced VR “Sense” technology including eye-tracking, headset feedback, 3D audio, and intuitive motions. These enhance immersion far beyond basic VR — making games more realistic and engaging.
These factors represent the most critical aspects that will impact your satisfaction with this product.
I hated the first PSVR headset with a passion. It was the biggest waste of money I’ve ever experienced; In my 3 years of owning it, I maybe used it 10 times bc of how much of a hassle it was to set up and the lackluster gaming experience. I mean it when I say the PSVR2 is light years ahead of the first one.
As a disclaimer, I bought this PSVR2 on sale for 350$ and the rest of this review will be reflective of THIS price point. At 550$ My rating would drop by one star, but that is for another day.
