How well the plug connects to your home Wi-Fi and integrates with ecosystems (Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings) affects its usability across devices and routines.
The plug should allow daily or weekly schedules and timers to automate devices without manual switching.
Remote access through a smartphone app enables you to control plugged-in devices from anywhere — essential for automation and security.
The rated maximum current (e.g., ~13A) and safety certifications ensure the plug can handle typical home appliances safely.
Some Meross models include energy monitoring to track real-time power use and help reduce electricity costs, though not all variants do.
The Meross plug lets you set schedules and timers so devices automatically turn on/off at designated times — perfect for routines like lights at sunset or coffee makers in the morning. It works over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (no hub required), which provides broad compatibility with routers and supports remote app and voice control over the internet. Through the Meross app, users can monitor and control devices in real time — switching them on/off instantly or modifying schedules from anywhere.
These factors represent the most critical aspects that will impact your satisfaction with this product.
I should give them a 5-star rating as these seem to be the best plugs out there BUT I bought these “mini” plugs to see if I could use 3 of them in a quad outlet and putting in 2 side-by-side reslults in a poor fit. In a two outlet configuration, they are great. Getting them into Homekit was easy and they work as advertised. C’mon, just 1/8” narrower and they could be perfect.
I am very interested in automating a lot of things in my home, so I researched many brands of smart devices.
