Room size & layout — the size of your living room or viewing area determines how powerful the soundbar/subwoofer should be. A 5.1-channel system like HW-Q60T is more suitable for medium to large rooms.
Type of content (movies / music / dialogue / games) — different content demands different sound characteristics (bass-heavy music vs. dialogue clarity vs. immersive surround). The soundbar’s modes and features should match what you watch/listen to most.
Subwoofer performance & bass needs — if you enjoy movies with deep explosions or music with strong bass, the subwoofer’s ability to reproduce low frequencies is crucial.
Surround sound realism vs. convenience / cost — virtual surround bars are easier to set up and cheaper than full surround systems with multiple speakers. But they may not match the realism of true multi-speaker setups.
Connectivity & compatibility — having HDMI, optical, Bluetooth, and 4K passthrough ensures compatibility with a variety of TVs, consoles, Blu-ray players, etc.
Ease of setup & integration with existing devices — wireless subwoofer, Bluetooth, and HDMI ARC make setup simpler without complex wiring.
The HW-Q60T offers multiple sound modes (Adaptive Sound, Game Pro, DTS Virtual:X, Standard, Surround Sound Expansion) — letting you match output to the content: e.g. dialogue-heavy TV shows vs. action movies vs. music vs. gaming. This versatility is important because it makes the soundbar useful for mixed usage rather than just one type of content.
These factors represent the most critical aspects that will impact your satisfaction with this product.
I've been waiting for the release of the Klipsch 1200 for some time. This week Amazon had what appeared to be a one day killer promotion (1k even) which lured me into trying this.
* I wouldn't get it if your TV doesn't have HDMI eARC capability. If your TV only does HDMI ARC, I'd save a fair bit and get an ARC (not eARC) soundbar.
